It’s been so long since we’ve done a giveaway here at Pram Rock HQ… so we thought we’d better get crankin’!
We’ve got 5 tees of any design and size up for grabs. All you have to do to enter is leave your name, the tee and size you’d like to win, and a brief explanation on why you would like to win. You can either do that here, or on our facebook page. We’ll announce the winners on Sunday night, 14 August at 7:00pm. Entries will close at 6:00pm that night. The winners will be drawn at random from the pool of entries and announced here on the blog. Don’t worry, we’ll post the link on facebook, we’re just not allowed to actually announce the winners there.
So… get looking through our online shop to check all the designs and sizes available before you enter. Remember, this will be a random draw.
Good luck!!
My favourite view on the Gold Coast, from the Rainbow Bay Surf Club at Snapper Rocks. One hand holding an ice cold beverage, the other taking the photo. About 3 seconds after I took this, we were all graced by the sensational presence of a beautiful breaching whale, only about 50 or so metres out. After screaming “AWESOME!” and almost knocking over the elderly man next to us, we watched for ages before we realised we weren’t taking any photos. As soon as I got my phone out, the show stopped.
I was asked, however, by the elderly gentleman, “what do you mean by awesome? Do you know what awesome means?”. I was stunned, wondering what kind of lecture I was about to receive. I wanted to answer, “for me, awesome means really farken cool”, but as I was trying to think of an answer sans swear words, my awesome friend replied, “awesome to me means to inspire awe. Now I was in awe of that, weren’t you?”. Yes, nice answer!
Cheers!
Pram Rock has been featured on the website! Check it out right here….
Pram Rock featured in the Gold Coast Bulletin! Yeeew!
Yeeeeew!!! Pram Rock is now stocked by the very cool Broken Tree.
Leigh (Broken Tree head honcho) seems to be a man with his finger in some rather extreme pies. Not only has he started a site that celebrates everything underground, he is also one of the dudes behind Suicidal TV… “In May this year legendary Venice Beach skate-punk icons Suicidal Tendencies will embark on a world first project, combining a capital city national tour, three epic skate exhibition demo events (featuring some of Australia’s top skaters) and the production of a psycho new music video all in one package, to be televised nationally on Fuel TV in August and September this year.” Check them out on facebook right here.
Broken Tree is now stocking two babies/kids brands, Pram Rock and Baby Base Ink. We all know there are parents out there who would like to dress their kidlets in something that reflects them more than what’s on offer in the mainstream. Big ups to Broken Tree for embracing this and stocking local Australian brands who are all of a similar mindset. Yeeeew!
Well well well…. I’ve finally done it. I’ve been talking about getting a new tattoo for about, mmm, 3 years? I just happen to know a lovely lady, who just happens to be a wicked artist, and just happens to own a tattoo parlour, that just happens to be situated downtown Lennox Head.
Anyway… this idea has changed form so many times and this is what came from a session with the wonderfully funky spunkrat Milly Loveknuckles at Rock of Ages, Lennox.
But before I upload the photos of my new arm, I have to show you my Dad’s tattoo. He had this done in 1958 or 59, by Tiger Mitchell in Auckland, NZ. I remember when I was young, thinking that this was the coolest tattoo ever because Dad always told us it meant “peace”. This photo was taken while I was getting mine done today….
So this is my little gallery of the arvo with Milly. The monarch butterfly represents my Mum. The flower blooms on a native NZ tree, the kowhai, and our whanau (family) name is Te Kowhai. So when Milly told me the monarch would look better with a flower, it only made sense for the flower to be a kowhai. Now you might not ever see a monarch land on a kowhai in real life… but it has on my arm.
We’re fortunate enough to live in a very cool little coastal town on the far north coast of NSW, Lennox Head. Now everyone knows where Byron Bay is, and sure, if you like to share pristine beaches with zillions of other visitors, then head straight there. But, if you think you’d dig a coastal town formed around one of the world’s greatest surf breaks, beaches as easily as good as Byron, minus the zillion people and filled with lots of very cool locals, then you’ll love Lennox Head.
And of course, within every little town there is a local rag. We were lucky enough to be featured in the month’s Lennox Wave. Pictured is me, Danielle, and my faithful companion, Chilly. I know I know… what’s a dog got to do with Pram Rock? Well he’s my reality check and reminds me that when I’ve spent too much time on the computer, it’s time for a round of tennis on Seven Mile Beach (which of course is another cool fact about Lennox, the best dog beach in the area!).
